Hemispheric
Religiosities: Media and Performance
is a two-day work group conference co-sponsored by The Hemispheric Institute
of Performance and Politics at New York University and the Centro de Estudios
Hemisfericos at Rutgers University. The conference aims to explore issues
in the field of Religious Spectacles, focusing on the relationship between
media and performance in the Americas. It brings together a small group
of scholars currently working on these issues, giving them an opportunity
to explore and share their perspectives on their respective work. The
essays generated by the conference will be compiled into an edited volume
to be published by Rutgers University Press.
