Arts International is an independent, not-for-profit, contemporary arts organization dedicated to the development ad support of global cultural interchange in the arts and to educating audiences and the public about the richness and diversity of arts worldwide. Headquartered in New York, AI carries out its work through global projects and partnerships, new media ventures and publications, and advised funds and regranting programs offering opportunities for artists and arts organizations working internationally. Arts International Announces "Reduced Rates on Media Services for Individual Artists and Organizations" http://www.artsinternational.org The New AI Studio Lab Provides Innovative Media Opportunities For Nonprofits and Individuals. With the worldwide transition to digital video and streaming media technologies opening up possibilities in so many new areas, Arts International has launched the AI Media Studio. The AI Media Studio has been created with a strong commitment to providing the international arts community with accessible and innovative media equipment and staff, specializing in on-location and in-house video and audio production. The services AI will be offering are tailored to the needs of arts professionals and are dedicated to sharing valuable resources with the arts community. The Media Studio will support existing AI projects and establish new projects that encourage arts organizations to utilize a state of the art approach to capturing their work. AI understands that arts organizations have very little time, and in many cases budget, to invest in recording equipment and professional media representations of their projects. We believe the AI Media Studio will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day business of artists and arts organizations, by helping to create cost effective methods for high quality documentation. This documentation will invaluable tools for: marketing purposes, video proposals, full length documentation of shows and specifically designed short form pieces of streaming media from organizations websites. AI's in-house facilities include a spacious gallery/studio that is an intimate setting for live audiences and doubles as a controlled environment, for work that requires no audience. The studio is equipped with projectors, monitors, PA, T-1 connection and an array of complimentary camera and sound equipment. AI is enabling the arts community to capture performances, rehearsals, in studio interviews and documentary style shooting in a high quality format at low cost. By developing a package that can cut video on location and in house, as the performances are happening, AI has reduced the time, money and effort that goes into makeing a quality documentation of work. Joshua White is an independent producer who says, "Arts International fields a unique blend of audio and video equipment, combining the best of many production techniques. Producers can work their way up from a simple standard one-camera documentation to a multi-camera "switched mix" by simply adding components. Arts International uses this "switch mix" approach by cutting all the feeds together in real time and recording the master program on a master tape. Nothing is lost in the process and each camera records video and audio individually. This "live switch" or "switch mix" allows AI partners and clients to walk away from the production with a master tape that is already edited between cameras and it is much more time efficient to re-edit a well cut master tape of a live event, than it is to cut a new program from multiple sources. Arts Internationals use of many different disciplines renders an exceptional result and can save valuable dollars in postproduction costs."
