There are certain spaces that are highly charged with cultural meanings due to the long history of practices and performances that have taken place there—the cemetery, the market, homes and streets are examples of the places in which intangible heritage is forged and transmitted through performance. People participate in a series of acts in order to receive their dead, acts that transmit a sense of collective memory and identity.
